OUR PHILOSOPHY
Takshni, is to chisel
It exists to be witnessed, to be walked alongside.
To slow down the eye. To restore the hand.
To remind the world that to live with care is itself an art.
An emergence, from the breath between two silences
where craft met consciousness, and memory met matter.
An emergence, at the intersection of art and thought
Existence, because the world forgot.
Forgot the soil beneath its feet,
the rhythm of its breath, the labour behind its luxury.
Forgot that to create is not to produce
Instead, to remember, to listen, to honour.
Celebrating consciousness – in form, in thought, in being;
Takshni is shaped not merely as a platform but as a collective rhythm
of artists, artisans, dreamers, thinkers and makers,
all sculpting a world that feels, for what is form,
if not the echo of feeling that once moved through a hand?
At a time when the world spins faster than we can process, we ask:
What does it mean to live with care? To make with presence? To see with depth?
Our journey is forever unfolding, like clay before it settles, like a thought before it speaks. There was a time,
long before
now, when to create was to remember — when art was embedded in the everyday, and not elevated out of reach. We do
not
distinguish between the poet and the potter, the loom and the lyric, with the coexistence of material and meaning,
inseparable as breath and body.
Marshall McLuhan said, “The medium is the message” and so we play with many: sculpture, conversation, performance,
sound, stillness, not bound by genre or geography. Rooted in being but fluid in creation, like clay in the hands
of
those who
approach with care. Our work resists categorisation. It is neither design, nor decor, nor doctrine but a quiet,
conscious
rebellion against the commodification of the soul. We are driven by questions of identity and social relations, by
the cultural
embeddedness of form, and by a desire to restore meaning to the act of creation, working slowly, intentionally. At
Takshni,
artisans are not technicians. They are theorists in clay, weavers of time, architects of feeling, defying the
separation of art
from life and of the maker from the meaning.
Walter Benjamin reminded us that to rescue the past is an act of revolution. John Ruskin once said that the strength of a nation lies in the dignity of its artisans. With these core ideas, we gather fragments from forgotten traditions, from stories whispered in dialects, from the inner worlds we abandon to speed and spectacle. It's not about the nostalgia, but the constellation of memory and momentum restoring not what was, but what wants to be again.
We strongly believe the soul of art lies not in objects or materials, but in relations between people, places, rituals, and rhythms. Thus, Takshni exists where Identity meets Imagination, where the local touches the universal, where the ecological and the emotional are not separate paths, but a shared ground.
Craftsmanship is an art that transcends time, culture, and borders. We believe that the world's rich cultural heritage is woven into the fabric of ancient crafting techniques, and by preserving and promoting these skills, we contribute to the preservation of human history and cultural diversity.
As we endeavor to showcase the diversity of artisanal crafts, we envision an expansive network of creative minds, connected through a shared passion for craftsmanship. Our company will serve as a hub for exchanging knowledge and inspiration, fostering cross-cultural collaborations that breathe new life into ancient techniques, preserving them for posterity.
Through our unwavering commitment to excellence, sustainability, and social responsibility, we envision becoming a beacon of hope for artisans globally. By creating a global market for ancient crafts, we aspire to positively impact the lives of artisans, their families, and their communities, empowering them to lead prosperous, dignified lives.
Together, we sculpt memory into material and material
into meaning.
To us, art is an encounter. A way of being.
An act of slow rebellion.
A return to the soul.
And so, we invite you.
To sit with us.
Listen. Make. Unmake.
Together, we might shape a more conscious world.
50+ voices, one quiet current, one consciousness in different forms.
40+ artisans, 5+ performers, 5+ artists, 10+ designers, and 100% thinkers;
brought together not by disciplines, but by a shared way of being.
From the chisel to the dancer’s breath, from carved contours to written rhythms, every act, a return to the earth, to the self, to stories that speak in silence.
